The GDCC is managed on a day-to-day basis by an elected management committee and has the support of a group of other members. These people have been selected for their ability to provide core skills drawing on their hands-on local experience.
He was a previous President for 3 years and managed to make a impact in working with
Godalming Town Council and Waverley Council.
He now has two shops in Godalming Hardware in Church Street and Blinds & Curtains in the high Street.
His aim is to unite all Retailers and Business people to work to together in making Godalming the Town to be in!
A member of the Chamber since 2011, Tim subsequently joined the management team in 2012 and went on to be President from 2015 to 2017. He is passionate about the quality of life in Godalming and believes the Chamber should be central to local policy making and the local business community, be that retail, B2B or B2C.
Tim would love to see more people get involved in the Chamber. “We are a voluntary organisation with very limited time and resources led by people leading busy lives with full time jobs. A voluntary organisation like the Chamber needs a regular input of new blood to share the load and bring new ideas, expertise, drive and enthusiasm to the table. I know committees aren’t for everyone but the more people that get involved, whether as a member or by joining the management team, the stronger the organisation would be and the greater influence we would have over local matters. It can also be fun with a social side to the Chamber that makes the whole experience more enjoyable. I have made friends that I wouldn’t otherwise have met!
Kevin became a member of the Chamber Management team in January 2017. Kevin is passionate about supporting local businesses and wants to give something back to the local community by using the skills, experience and knowledge gained over the years, in particular growing the membership from a small independent retail base.
Matthew has lived in Godalming all his life and his Father and Grandfather were previously retailers in the High Street.
Hughes Waddell joined the Chamber in 2010 and I joined the Management Team as Treasurer in January 2012.
I continued as Treasurer until 2016 when Peter Conneely of Shipleys took over the role. During my time on the Management Team I enjoyed assisting with the Food Festivals, Networking Events and the liaison with Waverley BC and other Chambers. Since 2017 I have been the Chamber’s representative on Godalming’s Dementia Awareness Alliance committee. In November 2019 I was asked by the Management Team to rejoin the Committee to assist with the Food Festivals and the relaunching of the Godalming Business Network , together with any other adhoc tasks within my skill set.
